What you'll do
- Design and deliver customer projects spanning architecture, integration, implementation, migration, testing, benchmarking, and documentation.
- Provide consultative, case-based support for strategic customers and prospects through implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proofs of concept.
- Handle L1–L3 customer support cases when not assigned to a project.
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and sales on product roadmaps and account plans.
- Create and contribute to documentation, knowledge-base content, reference architectures, learning resources, blogs, and benchmarks.
- Support hiring and mentoring as the team grows.
- Participate in shifts and on-call coverage; travel within the region may reach approximately 35%.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in professional services, support, technical account management, engineering/SRE, or project management.
- 5+ years of industry experience implementing, operating, or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant distributed DBMSs.
- Broad and deep technical knowledge in areas such as DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS, distributed systems, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, or big data.
- Experience leading and completing large technical projects with experienced engineers.
- Expertise with public cloud providers and IaaS services such as EC2.
- Able to work in Japan and proficient in both Japanese and English.
- Experience providing technical oversight, architectural guidance, and POC support to enterprise customers.
- Available for shifts, on-call work, and regional travel.

- Hands-on ClickHouse experience.
- Experience with open-source software or communities.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience with data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ.
