What you'll do
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and flux analyses
- Maintain US GAAP documentation and supporting schedules for areas such as prepaids, fixed assets, accruals, and intercompany balances
- Support internal controls and external audits with schedules, evidence, and auditor responses
- Partner with business owners and finance colleagues to resolve issues and reduce post-close adjustments
- Review team and contractor work and provide quality feedback
- Improve and automate accounting processes, including using AI tools and validating their output
- Support accounting system and process changes through testing, data validation, and documentation
What we're looking for
- Hands-on working knowledge of US GAAP and monthly close activities
- Experience preparing reconciliations and flux analyses in an ERP or general ledger system
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciling large data sets
- Experience supporting external audits and operating internal controls
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, ownership, and ability to manage competing deadlines
Nice to have
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA, ACA, ACCA, or CA qualification, or progress toward one
- Experience improving processes in a fast-moving environment
- Familiarity with ASC 842, ASC 718, ASC 606, fixed assets, or multi-entity and intercompany accounting
- Experience with close or reconciliation tools, SQL, or Python for data analysis
- Experience with ERP migration, SOX readiness, or public company reporting
- Demonstrated use of AI tools in accounting or finance with review-ready checks
- Interest in AI and Anthropic’s mission
