Backend Software Engineer - Staff/Principal

Stack

What you'll do

• Shape software architecture and technical direction
• Design and build complex software systems
• Mentor and coach engineers
• Drive adoption of technologies and frameworks
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering colleagues
• Review code, pair program, and help improve team delivery

What we're looking for

• Substantial experience designing and evolving complex software systems
• Expertise in one or more programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Rust, or C++
• Backend development experience with data-intensive applications
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Strong software design, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Leadership, mentoring, communication, and collaboration skills
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

Nice to have

• Experience with gRPC or GraphQL
• Expertise in databases, distributed computing, or cloud platforms
