What you'll do
- Monitor disasters and recommend activations based on response criteria.
- Launch and manage multiple emergency housing responses from partner readiness through close-out.
- Coordinate partners responsible for guest intake, eligibility, and case management.
- Track response status, spending, and people housed; proactively communicate updates and decisions.
- Build operational readiness through playbooks, partner agreements, coverage, and process improvements.
- Deploy to disaster zones on short notice and manage ground operations.
- Write after-action reviews and ensure follow-up improvements are completed.
What we're looking for
- 8–16 years of experience in US, APAC, or international emergency and disaster response operations.
- Direct experience activating and managing disaster responses end to end, including large-scale programs.
- Strong partnerships with nonprofits, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional influencing skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and make sound decisions in high-pressure, ambiguous environments.
- Willingness to travel on short notice for 30–50% of the year, with flexible stay lengths.
