Engineering Manager, Agentic Commerce

Lead the development of APIs and product experiences that enable AI agents to support online commerce through Stripe. The role spans backend services, dashboards, and money movement, with a focus on enterprise-grade reliability and reducing friction for users.

The team

Agentic payments team within Payments, building agentic commerce APIs and integrations.

What you'll do

• Lead full-stack product development across backend services, dashboards, money movement, and Stripe integrations.
• Partner with product and design to deliver features that increase user autonomy and reduce friction.
• Set team success metrics and guide decisions using data and hypothesis testing.
• Coordinate with platform and product teams across Stripe.
• Engage enterprise users and translate their needs into product solutions.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of engineering experience, a computer science background, and hands-on development expertise.
• Comfortable using agentic AI tools to solve problems autonomously.
• Experience coaching and developing senior and staff-level engineers.
• Experience leading multi-team initiatives and influencing engineering roadmaps.
• Strong communication skills and ability to clarify ambiguous concepts from first principles.
• Collaborative across functions and deeply empathetic to digital commerce users.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of engineering management experience.
• Experience building enterprise-grade APIs or integrations.
• Startup founding-team experience taking a product from 0 to 1.
• Experience in eCommerce or payments.
