What you'll do
- Mentor engineers and support career development and performance
- Oversee 2–3 cross-functional product pods and drive delivery of business outcomes
- Provide technical direction and guide major design decisions
- Lead a team operating a critical production service, including monitoring, on-call, and incident response
- Recruit engineers and help develop engineering culture and processes
- Coordinate planning across tactical and long-term horizons
What we're looking for
- Substantial experience managing and mentoring engineering teams
- Experience building and operating highly available, high-performance production services
- Expertise with on-call rotations and incident response
- Strong technical judgment to evaluate complex design tradeoffs
- Experience developing in Go
- Ability to give and receive constructive feedback and work independently
- Comfort adapting to a dynamic startup environment
