What you'll do
- Recruit, coach, and develop cloud platform engineers through regular feedback and 1:1s.
- Guide technical decisions through design reviews, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
- Set team priorities and milestones, and drive projects from specification through production.
- Establish reliability, performance, and operational excellence practices.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to align infrastructure work with business priorities.
- Lead major incident escalations and ensure lessons inform infrastructure improvements.
What we're looking for
- Direct engineering management experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE.
- Extensive hands-on Kubernetes experience and ability to contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews.
- Strong experience building and maintaining scalable production infrastructure.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD tools.
- Ability to drive projects end-to-end and communicate effectively across teams.
- Track record of recruiting and growing engineering talent.
Nice to have
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, ELK, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Multi-cloud or GPU infrastructure experience.
- Experience establishing on-call rotations and incident response processes.
