What you'll do
- Hire, coach, and grow engineers while setting a high bar for engineering quality
- Own delivery of finance event contracts, the accounting ledger, and the posting engine
- Oversee production services used by other teams, including tax and collections services
- Provide finance apps and agents with SDKs, frameworks, access controls, SOX guardrails, and observability
- Set reliability and correctness standards, including SLOs and source-to-books accuracy checks
- Align data contracts, APIs, and technical designs with Billing, Compute, and Infra teams
- Reduce the time required to support new products, programs, and compute buildouts
What we're looking for
- Experience leading teams building and operating high-volume backend systems where correctness matters
- Experience with event-driven systems, including idempotent processing, replay, and backfill
- Sound judgment on platform boundaries, data contracts, and API design
- Experience hiring and developing engineers and setting platform engineering standards
- Strong cross-functional communication with engineering, finance, and audit partners
Nice to have
- 3+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years in the industry
- Experience building developer platforms or paved paths
- Experience with Go and streaming systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka
- Experience building with LLMs and agents, including MCP
- Ledger or sub-ledger experience and knowledge of double-entry accounting
- Experience with SOX change management, segregation of duties, and audit trails
- Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Workday Financials or Oracle Financials
