What you'll do
- Lead multiple engineering pods and grow the team.
- Own delivery, quality, and user outcomes for the team’s products.
- Set and sequence the engineering roadmap, making build, integration, and partner decisions.
- Coordinate launches with licensing, bank and network partners, and compliance stakeholders.
- Stay technically hands-on with code, designs, architecture, and reliability decisions.
- Establish team hiring, operating rituals, quality standards, and on-call practices.
- Hire, develop, and provide direct feedback to engineers.
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of engineering management and 8+ years of software engineering experience.
- Experience taking a product, market, or team from zero to one.
- Track record of hiring, developing, and retaining strong engineers and building inclusive teams.
- Technical depth in architecture, reliability, and complex distributed systems.
- Strong product judgment and ability to translate user and market needs into engineering priorities.
- Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders across time zones.
Nice to have
- Payments, banking, or money movement experience, especially launching regulated financial products in new markets.
- Experience with APAC markets, local banks, networks, or regulators.
- Founder, founding engineer, or early-stage startup experience.
- Experience coordinating distributed teams across US, European, and APAC time zones.
- Experience using AI tools to improve execution, quality, or team effectiveness.
