The role secures reliable fuel delivery, negotiates supply and pipeline agreements, and coordinates fuel plans with site development, power contracting, finance, and operations teams.

About the company

What you'll do

  • Develop site-specific fuel plans covering supply, volume flexibility, delivery paths, firmness, and timing.
  • Evaluate pipeline capacity, pressure, constraints, and expansion timelines during site selection.
  • Negotiate gas supply agreements with producers, marketers, and midstream companies.
  • Secure pipeline transportation, storage, and related capacity and services.
  • Coordinate fuel plans and schedules with teams building interconnects, meter stations, laterals, and compression.
  • Align fuel agreements with power and energy services contracts.
  • Design reliability measures for fuel interruptions, including backup supply and storage.
  • Coordinate physical fuel positions with finance, scheduling, and portfolio operations.

What we're looking for

  • 8+ years of experience in natural gas midstream, pipeline commercial, gas marketing, origination, or power-generation fuel procurement.
  • Led firm transportation or long-term gas supply deals from term sheet to signature.
  • Knowledge of pipeline commercial operations, nominations, imbalance provisions, capacity release, and US and Canadian regulatory regimes.
  • Familiarity with major US and Western Canadian producing basins and trading hubs.
  • Experience advancing pipeline interconnects, meter stations, or laterals to service.
  • Ability to review and mark up gas contracts and build delivered-cost-of-gas models.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience supplying behind-the-meter, islanded, or peaking generation.
  • Commercial experience in both the United States and Canada.
  • Pipeline expansion or greenfield lateral experience, including permitting and approvals.
  • Experience with trucked LNG or CNG, on-site storage, or backup fuel.
  • Experience on or alongside a physical gas trading or scheduling desk.
  • Experience with certified low-methane gas, renewable natural gas, or fuel emissions accounting.
