Head of Exchange Infrastructure

About this role

As the Head of Exchange Infrastructure, you will oversee the product vision and roadmap for Kraken's trading infrastructure. This role involves consolidating multiple matching engines into a single stack and leading a team of product managers. You will work closely with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to align on exchange strategy and anticipate industry shifts.

What you'll do

• Own the product vision and roadmap for the exchange layer
• Lead and grow a team of four to five product managers
• Consolidate multiple matching engines into one
• Build interface-agnostic solutions for product teams
• Define success metrics and hold teams accountable
• Partner with engineering leaders to manage migration
• Collaborate with Risk and Credit Infrastructure teams
• Anticipate industry shifts and shape the platform

What we're looking for

• Senior product leader with experience in exchange or trading
• Experience managing and developing product managers
• Willingness to be a player-coach and hands-on
• Proven ability to set product vision and roadmap
• Strong understanding of matching engine architecture
• Experience building platforms for internal customers
• Excellent communication skills
• Passion for crypto markets and infrastructure

Nice to have

• Engineering background in high-performance systems
• Experience with both spot and derivatives markets
• Experience at a crypto exchange of comparable scale
• Track record of building interlocking platform roadmaps
