About this role

Build and lead lempire’s legal function as its first in-house legal hire. The role spans commercial SaaS contracts, corporate governance and M&A, employment, privacy, and legal operations, working closely with the COO, CEO, and business teams.

About the company

Lemlist is a sales engagement platform for personalized outbound campaigns. It helps GTM teams run multichannel sequences and improve reply rates.

What you'll do

  • Negotiate enterprise SaaS contracts, partnerships, and supplier agreements; help Sales unblock deals.
  • Create contract templates and negotiation playbooks, and make standard agreements self-serve.
  • Manage corporate governance, shareholder matters, BSPCE, the US entity, and Claap’s legal integration.
  • Partner with HR on employment contracts, terminations, disputes, CSE, and profit-sharing agreements.
  • Oversee GDPR and data-provider agreements with external specialists; handle other day-to-day legal matters.
  • Build legal intake and scalable processes, and decide which work to handle in-house versus outsource.
  • Manage external counsel and optimize legal spend.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years of legal experience, including significant in-house experience at a tech startup, scale-up, or SaaS company.
  • Strong B2B SaaS contract and commercial negotiation expertise.
  • Fluent French and English.
  • Pragmatic business judgment: recommend solutions that balance risk and commercial needs.
  • Autonomous, hands-on, and comfortable handling unfamiliar legal topics with specialist support.

Nice to have

  • Experience as a first or sole legal hire.
  • Experience with a US entity or international contracts.
  • Employment law, GDPR, or buy-side M&A experience.
