Lead the systems, processes, and technology that enable Sword’s Legal department to scale. Own legal technology and AI adoption, operational workflows, metrics, and strategic projects, balancing leadership with hands-on execution.

What you'll do

• Own and optimize Legal’s technology ecosystem, including CLM, matter management, intake, knowledge management, and workflow automation.
• Develop and execute a legal technology roadmap, including AI and automation initiatives.
• Lead technology evaluations, implementations, integrations, vendor selection, and adoption.
• Design and improve legal workflows and operational reporting.
• Partner with Legal and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver strategic projects.
• Lead, mentor, and develop legal operations professionals.

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, strategic project management, or a related field.
• Experience owning, implementing, and optimizing legal technology platforms such as CLM or comparable enterprise systems.
• Experience designing scalable workflows and improving processes.
• Experience evaluating and implementing AI-enabled tools, automation, or technology-driven improvements.
• Strong technical aptitude and experience collaborating with IT, Engineering, and other technical teams.
• Able to work independently and balance strategic priorities with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience in healthcare technology, digital health, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
• Experience scaling legal operations in a startup or high-growth company, including managing team members.
• Familiarity with Ironclad, Spotdraft, or comparable legal technology platforms.
