About this role

What you'll do

  • Manage and develop UK onboarding operators, including prioritisation, one-to-ones, and performance.
  • Own queue management, workload allocation, and capacity planning.
  • Make first-line decisions on complex KYB cases, including EDD, PEP, adverse-media, and ownership-structure reviews.
  • Manage partner escalations and turn recurring fixes into repeatable playbooks.
  • Oversee clear, timely customer onboarding communications.
  • Define and report operational metrics and use them to improve performance.
  • Work with Product and Engineering to remove onboarding friction.
  • Maintain evidenced first-line decision standards and provide backup for UK safeguarding reconciliations.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of KYB, onboarding, or financial-crime operations experience at a UK fintech, EMI, PI, or bank.
  • Working knowledge of MLRs 2017, JMLSG guidance, and FCA customer due-diligence expectations.
  • Sound judgement on complex business customers, including layered ownership, overseas parents, trusts, and PEPs.
  • Clear written communication with customers and in documented case decisions.
  • Demonstrated day-to-day use of AI tools, with concrete examples.
  • A process-improvement mindset.

Nice to have

  • Experience managing operators or analysts.
  • Experience with card-issuing, BaaS, or payments partners on onboarding.
  • Safeguarding or client-money reconciliation experience.
  • Experience writing requirements for Product and Engineering.
  • EU onboarding experience or a second European language.

Benefits

  • Equity.
  • Flexible paid time off.
  • Private medical insurance and virtual GP care.
  • Workplace pension with salary-sacrifice option.
  • Up to 16 weeks of parental leave for birthing and bonding, or 8 weeks for bonding only, at 100% pay.
