Lead Tax Accountant

What you'll do

• Prepare account reconciliations, journal-entry support, and monthly flux analyses.
• Research tax-law changes and coordinate timely VAT, GST, sales tax, and property tax filings with providers.
• Support sales and use tax operations, including exemption certificates, taxability mappings, reverse use tax accruals, and nexus monitoring.
• Partner with other departments on indirect tax questions and support accounting tasks, audits, and ad hoc requests.
• Identify process improvements and help implement automation and AI solutions.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• At least 5 years of indirect tax experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and tax law.
• Able to work late to overlap with U.S. Pacific time during close and audit periods, about one-third of the month.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; able to manage competing priorities.

Nice to have

• General accounting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite; Numeric and Avalara experience is a plus.
