What you'll do
- Lead, support, and grow engineers building infrastructure for Figma’s AI products.
- Define technical strategy with engineering and product leaders and manage project execution.
- Hire, coach, and develop senior and staff engineers.
- Engage deeply in technical decisions to help deliver a robust AI platform.
- Build an inclusive team culture through thoughtful hiring and team-building.
What we're looking for
- At least 3 years of engineering management experience leading fast-moving teams.
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, ideally including staff-level individual contributor work.
- Experience working on production AI systems.
- Track record of mentoring and growing experienced AI engineering leads.
- Ability to learn new AI technologies quickly and develop technical depth.
- Experience scaling engineering teams and organizational structures.
Nice to have
- Experience with AI agents, agent harnesses or loops, or LLM and agent tooling platforms.
- Experience building high-scale production infrastructure, such as inference, metering, anti-abuse, or billing systems.
- Background in adjacent platform domains such as recommendation systems or networking.
