OpenRouter Product Accounting

About this role

Own revenue and cost accounting for OpenRouter products, applying U.S. GAAP—especially ASC 606—to new products, features, and contracts. Build scalable accounting processes and controls while partnering with product, finance, engineering, and audit teams. The role is contingent on Stripe completing its proposed acquisition of OpenRouter.

What you'll do

• Own product P&L accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and reporting
• Advise product, go-to-market, and finance partners on accounting implications
• Partner with systems and engineering teams on financial systems and process automation
• Research and prepare technical accounting analyses
• Assess and design internal controls and scalable accounting processes
• Analyze financial data and system flows to identify anomalies
• Support external audits

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of relevant public accounting and/or industry experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
• Fluency in U.S. GAAP and ability to research complex accounting issues
• Experience managing high volumes of complex transactions and financial issues
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills
• High attention to detail and a track record of delivering challenging projects
• Solution-oriented approach to improving processes and establishing best practices
• Track record of using AI to improve quality and efficiency

Nice to have

• Experience in technology, payments, or AI
• SQL experience
