What you'll do
- Identify performance opportunities in customer and benchmark workloads
- Design and implement optimized database algorithms and data structures
- Improve query execution, indexes, memory management, scheduling, and hardware utilization
- Develop and safely roll out changes to the database system
- Represent the company through presentations, blog posts, and community contributions
- Mentor junior engineers
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of database performance engineering or distributed systems experience
- Master’s or PhD in databases or a related field
- Strong C++ fluency and experience with performance-critical systems software
- Track record of delivering complex performance improvements end-to-end
- Strong computer science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
