About this role

Serve as a strategic partner and operator to the VP of Growth Marketing, coordinating priorities, budgets, and decisions across a roughly 100-person marketing organization. Drive cross-functional initiatives and operating rhythms, represent the VP when needed, and help the team deliver pipeline, conversion, expansion, and adoption outcomes.

About the company

GitLab is a DevSecOps platform that brings source control, CI/CD, security, and project management into a single application. It helps engineering teams plan, build, secure, and ship software faster.

The team

Growth Marketing, an integrated organization of roughly 100 people across ten functions, reporting to the Chief Product and Marketing Officer.

What you'll do

  • Run planning cycles, business reviews, goal tracking, and metrics inspection.
  • Track leadership-team commitments and ensure decisions are recorded and followed through.
  • Lead strategic projects without a clear functional owner.
  • Maintain the team budget picture and recommend trade-offs.
  • Represent Growth Marketing in pipeline reviews, cross-functional planning, and partner conversations.
  • Unblock functional leaders and advise them as a thinking partner.
  • Partner on measuring and advancing AI adoption across Growth Marketing.
  • Prepare executive updates, leadership materials, keynotes, and customer or partner meetings.

What we're looking for

  • Senior leadership experience in B2B software marketing, with accountability for pipeline or revenue.
  • Breadth across demand, digital, field, events, lifecycle or product-led growth, partner marketing, and marketing operations.
  • Track record of delivering cross-functional projects through influence.
  • Fluency with P&Ls, pipeline reports, budgets, and subscription or consumption business models.
  • Experience with goal frameworks, business reviews, and planning cycles.
  • Hands-on daily use of AI tools, including having built or configured something with them.
  • Strong executive communication, discretion, and ability to use GitLab.
  • Familiarity with developer, DevOps, or platform engineering audiences, or ability to learn quickly; occasional travel required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in chief of staff, strategy and operations, or business operations roles.

Benefits

  • Flexible paid time off
  • Equity compensation and employee stock purchase plan
  • Parental leave
  • Growth and Development Fund
  • Health, financial, and well-being benefits
