What you'll do
- Resolve authorization, referral, and eligibility issues while meeting productivity and quality targets
- Verify insurance coverage, calculate member financial responsibility, and provide cost estimates
- Answer member billing questions and record and reconcile payments
- Identify collection options such as payment plans or hardship applications
- Maintain accurate records and review reports for balance and authorization trends
- Coordinate billing issues with coding, clinicians, Member Support, and other teams
- Help improve workflows and keep standard operating procedures current
- Follow HIPAA requirements and applicable regulations
What we're looking for
- 3+ years of revenue cycle management experience and working knowledge of medical billing claims
- Experience with financial clearance, insurance verification, or authorizations
- Experience speaking with patients or members about billing or insurance
- Working knowledge of billing, coding, claims follow-up, and payer communications
- Proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis
- Comfort using billing software, Microsoft Office, and multiple systems
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who learns quickly
