Senior Accounting Manager

About this role

Lead US general ledger accounting and maintain the integrity and compliance of Trustly’s US financial statements. Oversee close and reporting processes, tax compliance, audits, financial systems, and a small accounting team in a global payments business.

Stack

What you'll do

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close under US GAAP.
• Review financial statements, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, cash accounting, and working capital tracking.
• Coordinate US federal, state, and local tax filings with external advisors.
• Manage external audits and prepare supporting schedules and workpapers.
• Improve financial systems, automation, and internal controls, including SOX readiness.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of accountants.
• Partner with Payroll, FP&A, Accounts Payable, and Global Finance.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Significant accounting experience, including people management.
• Strong US GAAP, consolidation, and intercompany accounting knowledge.
• Experience with enterprise ERP systems and advanced Excel.
• Familiarity with US corporate tax, state tax nexus, and financial compliance.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

Nice to have

• CPA license.
• Experience combining public accounting with corporate accounting in tech, fintech, or financial services.
