What you'll do
- Build and operate backend services and APIs across web, Android, and iOS.
- Develop subscription and payment capabilities, including checkout, entitlements, renewals, and lifecycle events.
- Enable targeted experiences and experiments with feature flags and cohort targeting.
- Instrument acquisition and customer behavior events and partner with Product and Data on measurement.
- Improve reliability and performance, especially for payment correctness and data consistency.
- Own work through design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Use AI tools to accelerate development while ensuring correctness, security, and maintainability.
What we're looking for
- Production backend engineering experience and strong TypeScript skills.
- Strong API design, relational database, data modeling, and automated testing foundations.
- Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, retries, idempotency, and consistency.
- Familiarity with product analytics and experimentation instrumentation.
- Experience diagnosing production issues with logs, metrics, and tracing.
- Clear communication, collaboration, and ownership skills.
- Practical experience using AI in engineering workflows and critically reviewing its output.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with consumer subscriptions, payment providers, or entitlement systems.
- Experience with experimentation platforms, attribution, or lifecycle messaging.
- Familiarity with Go, cloud infrastructure, and event-driven architectures.
