What you'll do
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems
- Drive projects from initial idea through customer operations
- Deliver and iterate on features with the team
- Contribute to open-source projects and review code and design documents
- Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own service reliability
- Support teammates and collaborate in design discussions
What we're looking for
- Experience with at least one programming language; Go experience is used on the team, and experience with Python, C, C++, Rust, or similar can translate
- Experience delivering projects from requirements through customer release
- Experience developing cloud software or systems engineering
- Some on-call experience and familiarity with the DevOps model
- Ability to write clean, robust, performant, maintainable software
- Familiarity with observability systems and using metrics, logs, and traces to debug problems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote team
Nice to have
- Kubernetes experience
- Experience with queue systems such as Kafka
- Operational experience using Grafana and Prometheus
- Exposure to microservices and distributed systems, or interest in learning them
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code
