The team
Product Development team, reporting to the VP of Product Development.
What you'll do
- Lead end-to-end product development and innovation for new platforms, from formulation through commercialization.
- Own and evolve the platform’s Innovation Brief system and development frameworks, including stage-gate and desirability, viability, and feasibility evaluation.
- Drive formulation and material changes to improve quality, stability, cost, and product opportunities.
- Coordinate flavor development with flavor houses and partner with contract manufacturers on commercial-scale production.
- Own sensory and stability validation and align development, pilot, and scale-up with Manufacturing.
- Represent the platform with cross-functional and executive stakeholders and share practices across Product Development.
What we're looking for
- 7+ years of product development experience in beverage or CPG, including substantial hands-on formulation experience.
- 5+ years as a food scientist with ready-to-drink or beverage processing experience.
- BA/BS in Food Science or a related field; based in the greater Chicago area.
- Experience taking products from concept to commercial scale with contract manufacturers and flavor houses.
- Strong grounding in sensory evaluation and stability testing.
- Experience owning innovation frameworks and making strategic decisions on formula direction, prioritization, and resourcing.
- Able to work hands-on near the lab and lead cross-functionally in an ambiguous, builder-focused environment.
