What you'll do
- Hire and grow engineering teams in Poland and Spain.
- Set the technical direction, roadmap, and strategic priorities for Cards.
- Lead managers and engineers, building a strong ownership culture.
- Model effective use of AI to improve engineering speed while maintaining quality.
- Partner with stakeholders across the US, EU, and Affirm to deliver scalable, reliable products.
What we're looking for
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years managing engineering teams and 2+ years managing managers.
- Experience leading a multi-team organization through a multi-year technical strategy and shipping work from ambiguous requirements.
- Technical depth to guide architecture, reliability, and quality decisions across multiple systems.
- Ability to make prioritization decisions, communicate tradeoffs, and adapt strategy based on evidence.
- Experience developing managers and building inclusive teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
