What you'll do
- Run US and international payroll end to end, including final reconciliations.
- Manage domestic and international payroll tax filings and compliance.
- Manage PEO and EOR relationships and clarify provider responsibilities.
- Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and support month-end close.
- Build and maintain payroll calendars, processes, and documentation.
- Coordinate payroll changes with People/Talent and Accounting.
- Support Carta equity administration and board reporting.
- Respond to employee payroll questions and auditor requests.
What we're looking for
- Hands-on experience running US and international payroll, including Canada and/or the EU.
- Direct experience managing payroll tax filings.
- Experience with multi-state US payroll for a distributed workforce.
- Strong experience with PEO and/or EOR structures.
- Able to work independently and identify tax, legal, and compliance risks.
Nice to have
- CPP, FPC, or similar payroll certification.
- Experience bringing payroll in-house, changing providers, or migrating an HRIS.
- Experience administering equity in Carta.
- Experience at a fast-growing company with an international distributed team.
