About this role
Help evolve Aurora, Iterable’s design system, into a structured, versioned system of design intent that supports designers, engineers, and AI-assisted development. The role combines hands-on design-system work with technical collaboration, documentation, tooling, and cross-team influence.

- Define component specifications, usage guidance, accessibility requirements, and machine-readable design intent.
- Partner with engineers to connect Figma, tokens, React, Storybook, prototypes, and documentation.
- Strengthen token architecture and establish audits and quality gates for accessibility and system consistency.
- Manage system changes through versioning, release notes, impact reports, and decision records.
- Prototype responsible AI-assisted workflows and mentor teams in design systems thinking.
What we're looking for

- Strong portfolio demonstrating craft, interaction quality, accessibility, and systems thinking.
- Deep Figma expertise, including variables, modes, properties, variants, slots, branching, and libraries.
- Experience defining component APIs, states, behavior, composition rules, and usage guidance.
- Comfort with schemas, validation, versioning, and change management.
- Strong engineering partnership and familiarity with Storybook, Figma Code Connect, token pipelines, and design-system documentation tools.
- Ability to write precise documentation for people and AI coding agents.
Nice to have
- Experience with B2B SaaS and complex, data-rich workflows.
- HTML, CSS, or React skills for prototyping or quality refinements.
- Experience with token transformation, linting, CI checks, or design-to-code pipelines.
- Familiarity with APIs, GitHub workflows, command-line tools, or design-system automation.
