Senior Product Manager

About this role

Lead product strategy and execution for a new privacy-first community product at Proton. Own its roadmap, metrics, discovery, and cross-functional delivery, building engaging and trustworthy community experiences at scale.

Proton builds end-to-end encrypted email, VPN, storage, password, and related privacy tools for individuals and businesses.

What you'll do

• Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap from discovery through launch
• Set and monitor activation, engagement, retention, and community-health metrics
• Apply community product mechanics, including growth loops, moderation, and network effects
• Lead execution with engineering, design, data, and growth partners
• Conduct user research, competitive analysis, and ongoing feedback collection
• Represent the product to users, partners, and internal leadership

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of product management experience, including meaningful experience with a social, messaging, or community platform
• Deep understanding of engagement loops, content moderation, trust and safety, and network effects
• Analytical approach to defining success, running experiments, and making data-informed decisions
• Strong, precise written and verbal communication
• Ability to autonomously identify product problems and drive solutions through launch

Nice to have

• Experience building privacy-respecting alternatives to mainstream social or community platforms
• Familiarity with open-source community protocols such as atproto, IETF MLS, or Matrix
• Experience scaling a community product from early traction to millions of active users
