What you'll do

  • Lead response to fraud incidents, assess impact, coordinate teams, and recommend containment and customer actions.
  • Run postmortems and track root causes, control gaps, remediation owners, and deadlines.
  • Turn incident patterns into improvements to alerts, rules, procedures, tooling, and training.
  • Draft incident reports and concise, accurate responses for partner banks, auditors, and internal governance.
  • Coordinate partner-bank requests and commitments with Partnerships and Compliance.
  • Support audit and regulatory observations, maintain evidence and procedures, and track issues through closure.
  • Mentor teammates on effective escalation and improve incident-response training and tooling.

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years in fraud investigations, risk operations, or financial crimes, including hands-on first- and third-party fraud investigations.
  • Experience leading fraud incidents or similar high-severity events, including impact assessment, cross-functional response, and postmortems.
  • Strong writing skills and experience producing precise, defensible reports or audit and partner-bank responses.
  • Experience working with regulated institutions, sponsor or partner banks, regulators, examiners, or auditors.
  • Knowledge of US payment rails and fraud typologies, including ACH, wires, checks, cards, account takeover, mule accounts, and synthetic or first-party fraud.
  • Ability to interpret fraud volume, loss, and rate data using SQL or dashboard tools.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive decisions to completion.
  • Experience using AI and automation to synthesize evidence, draft documents, and maintain status reporting.

Nice to have

  • Experience with BPO or outsourced operations.
  • Familiarity with incident management practices, severity levels, and written postmortems.
  • Continuous improvement or project management experience.
  • Experience in a high-growth fintech environment.
