What you'll do

• Lead backend development and maintain server-side logic
• Take ownership of deployed services and monitor their health
• Work with CloudEng on production environment improvements
• Participate in on-call support for production issues
• Handle releases and updates from support requests
• Apply AI-assisted development tools thoughtfully
• Support frontend and cross-functional teams for API needs
• Participate in code and security reviews

What we're looking for

• 4+ years of backend software development experience
• Experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust
• Proficient in PostgreSQL and SQL query optimization
• Hands-on DevOps experience on Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with monitoring tools like Sentry and Grafana
• Commitment to shipping quality work
• Strong engineering judgment
• Genuine ownership mindset with production support experience

Nice to have

• Performance/load testing experience
• Familiarity with Terraform and Kubernetes
• Open-source contributions
• Django experience
