Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - AI/ML

Build and operate AI and machine-learning products and integrations for ClickHouse, spanning backend services and features in ClickHouse Cloud. The role also develops APIs, developer tools, and production model integrations, with participation in daytime on-call.

What you'll do

• Build AI-powered features across backend services and frontend interfaces
• Design scalable APIs connecting ClickHouse with AI/ML inference systems
• Develop and maintain integrations with AI/ML frameworks, tools, and standards
• Integrate production models with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation
• Build developer tools, SDKs, and documentation
• Participate in the daytime on-call rotation

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
• Exposure to AI/ML technologies
• Backend development experience in TypeScript or Python, especially API design and service architecture
• Strong ownership, with ability to drive features from concept to production
• Effective collaboration and communication skills

Nice to have

• Experience deploying AI/ML models in production, using inference APIs and vector databases
• Familiarity with cloud AI/ML services on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of database systems and data-processing pipelines; ClickHouse experience is a plus
