What you'll do
- Build Nest.js scaffolding and platform primitives for new backend services.
- Create paved paths, generators, and workflows that make services ready to use from day one.
- Enable new services to run independently of the existing monolith.
- Own deployment workflows for Cloudflare services and web apps, interoperating with AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Lead codebase migrations into the monorepo and make the process repeatable.
- Partner with product teams and improve the platform based on adoption and user friction.
- Develop tooling and agent-assisted workflows to reduce migration effort.
What we're looking for
- At least 5 years building and operating production backend services.
- Experience defining service boundaries, contracts, and data ownership.
- Business-level English fluency.
- Fluency in TypeScript and Node.js, with comfort using edge runtimes.
- Experience with monorepo tooling at scale and build-graph correctness.
- Experience incrementally extracting or bypassing functionality in a large, coupled codebase.
- Strong written communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with Nx, Turborepo, or similar monorepo tools.
- Experience across cloud environments and understanding of cross-cloud latency and cost tradeoffs.
- Experience with careful, behavior-preserving codebase migrations.
