Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Applications

Build and operate critical Temporal Cloud systems for namespaces, audit logs, and customer data exports. Lead architecture and delivery for scalable, reliable services and data pipelines, with a strong focus on data correctness, customer value, and operational excellence.

What you'll do

• Lead end-to-end technical design and delivery of business-critical cloud services.
• Create durable event schemas that support meaningful customer insights.
• Architect high-throughput data pipelines, balancing freshness, cost, isolation, and fault tolerance.
• Establish schema contracts, anomaly detection, and alerting to protect data quality.
• Improve engineering standards, maintainability, observability, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers and improve customer and developer workflows.

What we're looking for

• Experience designing and operating production-grade backend systems in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in a systems or backend language; Go is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems, reliability, scaling, consistency, and failure handling.
• Experience with data pipelines and storage systems such as PostgreSQL, Redshift, Kinesis, S3-compatible storage, or ClickHouse.
• Production operations experience, including observability, incident response, performance tuning, and continuous delivery.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, written communication, and technical planning skills.
