Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack - Portal Platform

About this role

Build and evolve shared platform capabilities for Abnormal AI’s customer, end-user, and demo portals. The role spans backend services, reusable frontend components, infrastructure, and engineering standards, with a focus on enterprise stability, security, and usability.

Abnormal Security uses AI to detect and stop email and collaboration attacks such as phishing and business email compromise. It protects enterprises against social engineering and account takeover.

What you'll do

• Deliver platform-level projects from design through launch across teams
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs for portal experiences
• Create reusable frontend libraries, design systems, and developer tooling
• Own CI/CD, deployment automation, and observability for portal applications
• Improve frontend performance, accessibility, and quality standards
• Mentor junior engineers and share engineering knowledge

What we're looking for

• 6+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex cross-team projects
• Deep React expertise, including frontend architecture, performance, build tooling, and design systems
• Proficiency in Python/Django or TypeScript, including API and data-model design
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and production operations
• Experience influencing technical direction through RFCs, architecture decisions, or migrations
• Mentoring experience and strong written communication in distributed teams
• Ability to balance platform technical debt with feature delivery
• Strong computer science fundamentals and a related bachelor’s degree

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Python/Django, React, and PostgreSQL
• Eagerness to use AI development tools
• Large-scale frontend application or frontend build-tool experience
• Micro-frontend architecture experience
• Web security knowledge, including OWASP Top 10
