Senior Software Engineer, Security Assurance

Build and maintain automated security assurance, compliance, and observability systems for Grafana Labs. The role combines hands-on software engineering with integrating security controls into cloud infrastructure, applications, and development workflows.

What you'll do

• Develop automated security assurance programs for organizational and regulatory requirements
• Build security observability systems, internal tools, and compliance automations
• Integrate security controls and checks into the SDLC, build pipelines, and operational processes
• Collaborate across teams to deploy security policies and developer-friendly guardrails
• Respond to customer security issues, alerts, and potential incidents

What we're looking for

• Production software development experience in at least one programming language
• Knowledge of securing containerized, cloud-native applications; Kubernetes experience is desirable
• Experience automating security and compliance processes while supporting employee workflows
• Strong communication skills with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers
• Understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or GDPR
• Computer Science, Information Security, or related degree, or equivalent experience

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple cloud providers
• Working knowledge of Grafana Labs products or OSS projects
• Experience with open-source communities or infrastructure compliance automation
• Experience securing large-scale distributed systems in public clouds
