Senior Software Engineer, Security Assurance

About this role

Build automated security assurance, compliance, and observability systems for Grafana Labs’ cloud-native environment. Develop tools and controls that help teams meet security requirements while integrating guardrails into everyday workflows and software delivery.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain automated security assurance and compliance programs.
• Develop security observability systems, automations, and internal tools.
• Integrate security controls and developer-friendly guardrails into the SDLC and build pipelines.
• Collaborate across teams to deploy security policies for applications and infrastructure.
• Respond to customer security issues, alerts, and potential incidents.

What we're looking for

• Production software development experience in at least one programming language.
• Knowledge of securing containerized, cloud-native applications; Kubernetes experience is preferred.
• Experience automating security and compliance processes while enabling employee and developer workflows.
• Strong communication skills for working with peers, stakeholders, auditors, and customers.
• Understanding of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI DSS, NIST, or GDPR.
• Computer science, information security, or related degree, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with multiple cloud providers.
• Experience with Grafana Labs products or using observability tools for security.
• Experience with open-source communities and infrastructure compliance automation.
• Experience securing large-scale distributed systems in public clouds.
