Senior Specialist, T2 / Target2 Payment Operations

About this role

Own the operational setup and ongoing management as Finom moves from indirect to direct participation in TARGET2 (T2). The role covers process design and UAT, a BIC-by-BIC migration from BNP Paribas, and stable business-as-usual operations after go-live.

What you'll do

• Design and document payment operations processes, and validate them during UAT.
• Manage SCT and SCT Inst recalls, investigations, SWIFT enquiries, missing funds, rejects, returns, and refunds.
• Operate the T2 platform via its GUI, U2A and A2A, and maintain CRDM reference data.
• Coordinate the BIC-by-BIC migration from BNP Paribas and define when dependent processes can be retired.
• Work with reconciliation teams on payment operations; funding and defunding remain with Finance Ops and Treasury.
• Establish incident escalation, DNB reporting, and ECONS II contingency processes.
• Coordinate with DNB, the Eurosystem, SWIFT/NEXI, FIS, correspondent banks, Product, and Engineering.

What we're looking for

• Hands-on experience with TARGET Services, including T2 or TIPS and GUI/U2A/A2A actions.
• Around 2–3+ years of payment operations experience at a bank, EMI, or PSP.
• Familiarity with SEPA schemes, investigations, recalls, returns, and SWIFT/ISO 20022 messaging.
• Experience writing SOPs and controls, or ability to learn quickly.
• Comfort working with regulators, partners, and technical teams, and making operational sign-off and escalation decisions.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience maintaining CRDM reference data.
• Experience with direct-participation onboarding or sponsor-bank migration.
• Knowledge of DNB/TARGET-NL conditions, IPR, PSD2, or ECONS II contingency processes.
