What you'll do
- Build and evolve distributed backend systems and high-throughput processing pipelines.
- Improve service performance, concurrency, fault tolerance, and resource efficiency.
- Design event-driven architectures, asynchronous workflows, and distributed coordination.
- Address consistency, retries, idempotency, deduplication, backpressure, and recovery.
- Own critical services from design and implementation through deployment and operations.
- Lead design discussions and collaborate across engineering teams on platform direction.
What we're looking for
- Experience designing, building, and operating complex production backend systems.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, asynchronous processing, consistency, and fault tolerance.
- Proficiency in Go or comparable backend programming experience with ability to become productive in Go.
- Experience designing and operating systems with Kafka, Google Cloud Pub/Sub, AWS SQS, or similar messaging technologies.
