What you'll do

• Design and build automation systems for Retool Workflows and Agents.
• Develop scalable systems for orchestrating complex workflows.
• Collaborate with product and design on technical solutions.
• Own end-to-end project architecture and implementation.
• Enhance developer experience and platform reliability.
• Work directly with customers on automation challenges.
• Influence technical direction through discussions and reviews.
• Mentor and interview new engineering team members.

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience with complex distributed systems.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Ability to navigate ambiguous technical problems.
• Customer-focused and strong product intuition.
• Collaboration experience with product and design teams.
• A bias toward ownership and high-quality software.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI infrastructure and tools.
• Background in workflow orchestration or event-driven systems.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or relational databases.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
