What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and services
- Ensure infrastructure is scalable, reliable, extensible, and meets service-level agreements
- Create simple abstractions and durable data models for users and internal interfaces
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and scientists on scalable systems and developer experiences
- Debug production issues and improve long-term maintainability
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
What we're looking for
- 8+ years designing, implementing, and operating large-scale APIs and services
- Experience building server-side APIs in dynamic languages such as Ruby
- Experience with document and relational databases, especially MongoDB and MySQL
- Ability to explore datasets using tools such as Redshift, Presto, or Trino
- Collaborative, user-first approach and strong written and oral communication
- Experience gathering feedback and delivering work from specification through deployment and impact measurement
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale financial tracking systems
- Practical knowledge of cloud services and technologies such as gRPC, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS
- Experience building marketing technology products
- Experience with machine learning, recommender systems, product-led growth, or lifecycle marketing
- Experience with distributed systems or microservices
