What you'll do
- Build Agent Drive features, including metadata replication, volume placement, garbage collection, and FUSE client behavior.
- Ensure cache coherency, write ordering, and crash consistency across multiple mounts.
- Improve read/write tail latency through caching, writeback, prefetch, and RPC batching.
- Implement tenant isolation, quotas, and noisy-neighbor mitigation.
- Improve sandbox startup and resume performance and build durable block storage.
- Build observability, lead storage incident resolution, and contribute to upstream projects.
What we're looking for
- Strong systems programming skills in Go, Rust, C, or C++, and comfort reading kernel code.
- Deep knowledge of Linux filesystem and storage internals, including VFS, page cache, FUSE, and fsync semantics.
- Hands-on experience with distributed storage, content-addressed storage, or large-scale caching.
- Experience profiling I/O, memory, and RPC bottlenecks and optimizing production tail latency.
- Ability to debug concurrency and partial-failure correctness issues.
Nice to have
- Experience with distributed filesystems or object stores such as JuiceFS, CephFS, or S3-compatible storage.
- Knowledge of consensus and replication protocols.
- Experience with snapshots, clones, or copy-on-write filesystems.
- Experience operating multi-tenant storage with strict isolation.
- Familiarity with Linux performance tools such as eBPF, io_uring, perf, ftrace, or blktrace.
