Software Engineer, Supportability Decisions

Build services and agentic infrastructure for Stripe’s risk decisioning systems. The work focuses on making decisions about businesses’ activities consistent, explainable, auditable, and responsive to new evidence.

The team

Supportability Decisions, within Supportability Engineering in Risk Engineering.

What you'll do

• Build a durable decision service and API for automated systems, agents, and human reviewers.
• Develop agentic investigation infrastructure that combines policy, business context, and assessment signals into explainable decisions.
• Improve transaction-laundering detection, URL enforcement, and decision quality using outcomes and reviewer feedback.
• Design traceable decision history, validity policies, and reusable integrations across products and regions.
• Build reliable backend workflows and improve shared orchestration and decisioning platforms.

What we're looking for

• 2–7 years of industry software engineering experience.
• Strong coding skills and ability to navigate different languages, tools, and codebases.
• Comfort working across the stack, shipping user-facing experiences, and analyzing experiments with queries.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work autonomously with significant responsibility.
• Interest in generalist work across technologies and stacks.

• Experience in a high-growth team.
