What you'll do
- Design, build, operate, and support core services, APIs, and data systems
- Improve platform scale, reliability, performance, and infrastructure
- Establish agentic engineering patterns, guardrails, and review practices
- Set system design standards and contribute through code review, design review, and mentorship
- Turn ambiguous product problems into systems that can be operated confidently
- Apply a security-first approach to engineering
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building and operating production software systems
- Strong service and API design fundamentals
- Experience with data schema design, query performance, and live migrations
- Distributed-systems experience and understanding of failure modes and tradeoffs
- Experience operating production systems at scale and making changes without downtime
- Daily fluency with AI and agentic tools, including awareness of their limitations
- Sound judgment, ownership of shipped code, and pragmatic problem-solving
Nice to have
- Security-first engineering experience
- Experience with typed languages, especially Go or TypeScript
- Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, and major cloud-provider experience
- Experience building multi-tenant systems with isolation guarantees
- Experience maintaining scaled public APIs or supporting multiple versions
- Mentoring experience and interest in shaping engineering culture
