Sr Software Engineer - Storybook

Join the Storybook maintainers team to build and improve the industry-standard tool for developing, testing, and documenting UI components. You’ll shape developer-facing APIs and help extend Storybook for AI agent workflows and across the frontend ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Contribute to Storybook as a core maintainer and design developer-facing APIs
• Triage issues, review pull requests, support contributors, and write or review RFCs
• Create educational content and engage with the developer community
• Coordinate with Chromatic engineering teams to ensure feature continuity
• Participate in the engineering support rotation, primarily during business hours

What we're looking for

• 5+ years building for the web with JavaScript, TypeScript, or relevant languages
• Experience building developer tools, frameworks, or libraries
• Understanding of modern web frameworks and build tools
• Strong written and verbal English communication; comfortable working asynchronously
• Interest in developer communities and improving developers’ lives

Nice to have

• Experience with Storybook or Chromatic
• Experience with agentic tools and AI development workflows
• Expertise in web technologies beyond React, such as Web Components, Angular, or React Native
• Publicly shared technical knowledge through talks, writing, or videos
• Experience working in a remote-first team
