Staff AI Product Manager, Phoenix Platform

Own the roadmap and ongoing quality of Sword’s Applied AI platform, which powers connected AI care experiences. Partner closely with engineering, AI, product, clinical, and operations teams to deliver safe, reliable AI features for members.

What you'll do

• Own the Applied AI platform roadmap, from strategic initiatives to ongoing platform maintenance
• Work hands-on with agents, evaluations, harnesses, and observability
• Balance cost, latency, quality, and decisions about open-source models versus in-house solutions
• Scope initiatives with engineering, AI, and product teams, balancing reusability with differentiation
• Iterate with engineering, product, clinical, and operations teams to keep delivery focused on member value
• Maintain production quality and address model degradation
• Partner with clinical teams to prevent, detect, and respond to AI safety failures
• Manage and grow a small product team

What we're looking for

• 5+ years of product management experience, including recent hands-on ownership of an AI-powered product
• Significant technical depth in generative AI, including models, prompting, retrieval, and agent architectures
• Experience launching LLM features to real users and handling evaluation, annotation, observability, and unexpected failure modes
• Able to contribute to technical discussions and connect technical decisions to member experience
• Willingness to challenge decisions that compromise member experience
• Ability to track advances in AI and apply sound product and technical judgment
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Effective use of coding agents for debugging, analysis, monitoring, tooling, research, and automation
