What you'll do
- Set technical direction for services and APIs supporting account administration and access.
- Lead architecture and implementation of authorization and tenant-boundary changes.
- Stay hands-on in production code and guide technical decisions and delivery.
- Improve API quality, testing, security, observability, rollout, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Product and adjacent teams to align administration capabilities.
- Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and technical documentation.
- Diagnose complex production issues and prevent recurrence.
What we're looking for
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production backend systems.
- Track record leading architecture or technical direction for complex services, APIs, or platform capabilities.
- Experience with distributed or multi-tenant systems, data modeling, SQL, and production reliability.
- Ability to influence cross-team decisions and communicate architecture clearly.
- Experience mentoring engineers and improving engineering practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with backend languages, relational databases, API design, cloud services, containers, and production testing.
Nice to have
- Experience with RBAC, SSO, account hierarchies, delegated administration, auditability, or IAM.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, AWS, Kubernetes, feature flags, or observability tools.
- Cybersecurity or customer-facing SaaS experience with complex tenant models.
