What you'll do
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems for reliability, performance, and availability
- Drive projects from initial idea through delivery and production operations
- Contribute to open-source projects and review designs and code
- Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotations and own the services you operate
- Collaborate remotely in design discussions and support teammates
What we're looking for
- Experience with at least one programming language; Go experience is useful, and Python, C, C++, or Rust experience can transfer
- Experience delivering software projects from requirements through customer release
- Some cloud software development or systems engineering experience
- Some on-call experience and familiarity with the DevOps model
- Ability to write clean, robust, maintainable, and performant software
- Familiarity with observability systems and using metrics, logs, and traces to debug issues
- Strong communication and ability to work independently in a remote team
Nice to have
- Kubernetes experience
- Experience with queue systems such as Kafka
- Operational experience using Grafana and Prometheus
- Exposure to microservices and distributed systems, or interest in learning them
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code
