Staff Demo Engineer

Build and lead the platform and tooling behind 1Password’s go-to-market demos. The role combines demo infrastructure, interactive product experiences, automation, and support for high-visibility customer and launch presentations.

Demo Engineering team within Platform Engineering.

Stack

What you'll do

• Set the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for the demo platform.
• Build shared demo infrastructure, including templates, automated provisioning and resets, data generation, and observability.
• Create sample applications and integrations across 1Password products.
• Support demos for launches, keynotes, conferences, and strategic customer opportunities.
• Develop AI-assisted tooling to automate demo preparation, validation, and maintenance.
• Partner with Engineering Security and lead architecture and code reviews.
• Mentor Demo Engineers and Senior Demo Engineers and represent the team in cross-functional decisions.
• Travel quarterly for conferences and company offsites.

What we're looking for

• Substantial experience in software, cloud, platform, DevOps, technical marketing, solutions architecture, or demo engineering.
• Experience in cybersecurity, identity, PAM, developer tools, or a related technical domain.
• Full-stack and automation experience with technologies such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React, or Python.
• Experience designing systems and infrastructure using IaC, CI/CD, containers, and a major cloud platform.
• Understanding of IAM concepts including SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM, device trust, passwordless authentication, and passkeys.
• Ability to balance speed, reliability, cost, and security and explain tradeoffs to technical and non-technical partners.

Nice to have

• Experience with interactive SaaS demo platforms such as Reprise, Navattic, Walnut, or Arcade.
• Experience with MDM tools such as Jamf, live event demos, demo utilization analysis, AI-assisted tooling, or MCP servers.
