About this role

Lead full-cycle recruiting for design roles across Product Design, Design Systems, UX Research, and related disciplines, while flexing into Product Management, Data, and other specialized technical searches. The role combines proactive sourcing, talent advising, AI-enabled recruiting, and community-building in San Francisco.

About the company

The team

SpecTech, the specialized tech recruiting team within Gusto’s talent acquisition organization.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end, sourcing-first searches from strategy through offer acceptance and post-hire review.
  • Build and nurture bar-raiser talent pipelines, map markets, and provide data-backed recommendations to hiring leaders.
  • Partner with compensation, people partners, candidate experience, and recruiting operations to move searches forward.
  • Deliver a responsive, honest, and supportive candidate experience.
  • Use and develop AI-enabled tools and approaches for sourcing, market analysis, and interview preparation; share effective practices with the team.
  • Take on Product Management, Data, or other technical searches as business needs shift.
  • Build Gusto’s presence in the San Francisco design community through local events and relationship-building.

What we're looking for

  • Typically 8+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience across specialized tech, including meaningful Design recruiting experience.
  • Hands-on experience using AI for sourcing, market mapping, and interview preparation, and building agents or skills to share effective practices.
  • Proven cross-functional partnership with People teams and business partners.
  • Credibility and executive presence when partnering with leaders at all levels.
  • Data fluency, including interpreting recruiting data and using it to prioritize searches and identify bottlenecks.
  • Strong sourcing craft, talent assessment, and always-on pipeline-building skills.
  • Bias for action and resilience when searches are challenging.
