Staff Site Reliability Engineer, Tools & Systems

Stack

What you'll do

• Design, build, deploy, and operate systems supporting Firefox engineering
• Improve developer tooling, CI/CD, workflow automation, and AI-assisted development tools
• Improve reliability, performance, observability, and cost efficiency across systems
• Use telemetry, metrics, and data analysis to investigate problems and guide decisions
• Develop technical standards, patterns, and solutions that can be applied across teams
• Collaborate with Firefox Engineering, Cloud Engineering, IT, and other teams

What we're looking for

• Strong software engineering skills and substantial experience operating production systems
• Programming experience in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience deploying and operating production systems in cloud environments
• Experience with infrastructure as code such as Terraform
• Experience across areas such as CI/CD, containers, networking, databases, observability, or developer tooling
• Experience using telemetry, metrics, and data to investigate technical problems
• Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools and their limitations

Nice to have

• C++ or Rust experience
• Open-source contributions
